This is the course that will teach you "how to fish" rather than to give you a fish dinner.

 

Knowing how to find information, where it is stored, how to access it, how to retrieve it, and how to save it to share with others is the primary goal of this workshop, and will certainly contribute greatly to being able to use your next visit to the library a more pleasant and empowered experience.

 

How to search the World Wide Web using a: search engine, directory, index—to find where information is stored is a key to Lifelong Learning. Make sense of 'search terms/keywords', Google, BING, Boolean operators, Mozilla, Dogpile, etc.

 

Web 2.0 tools such as Facebook®, blogs, Twitter®, Skype®, will be presented and demonstrated in both traditional laptop (using the new Windows 7® as well as the new Netbook featured in current TV commercials, using the XP Operating system and both in HIGH DEFINITION for your viewing ease.
